At Making Headway Center, we know that children with a brain injury have a unique set of needs . Our staff specializes in the treatment of pediatric and adolescent brain injury. As part of our commitment to our clients we work with a child’s schedule and do so by working with them after school to help them develop skills necessary to thrive as they get older. We work with younger clients one-on-one to implement cognitive remediation via brain games and other tools designed to enhance personal accountability.
Brain injuries can happen to anyone so consequently we have worked with a wide variety of individuals. We provide one-on-one services to young athletes, students, or persons in need of assistance. As a reminder, every client is referred to us through a professional healthcare practitioner so we encourage those considering our services to speak freely with their healthcare provider about joining our program.
We provide cognitive remediation services whereby clients play brain games, social skills, and any other constructive skills that push them toward personal growth. Whether these younger patients go to junior high school or college, our professional staff know how to work with clients in a way that allows them to be productive in and out of school. As mentioned before, our goal is always to help patients build cognitive tools so that they can function independently when necessary.
We know that children with brain injury have a unique set of needs and can’t just be treated as small adults. Our staff understands this and specializes in the treatment of pediatric and adolescent brain injury and we are experts in developing post-acute rehabilitation programs designed to meet the individualized needs of each child we support.
