A Concussion is a temporary condition caused by a sudden jolt or blow to the head causing the brain to travel past its protective layer of fluid. When there is a forward momentum and the head stops but the brain continues on that path colliding with the inside of the skull. This internal injury may be caused by external factors such as:
- Shaken Baby Syndrome
- Vehicle Collisions
- Contact Sports
- Falls
- Explosions
Multiple or Severe Concussions may cause permanent injuries such as:
- Traumatic Brain Injuries
- Acquired Brain Injuries
- Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy
- Epilepsy
- Parkinson’s
- Dementia
